British Columbia: BCTESG is a one-time $1,200 grant

BC resident children born in 2006 or later qualify for the BC Training and Education Savings Grant - a one-time $1,200 deposit into the RESP. The application window opens on the child's 6th birthday and closes on the 9th birthday. No contribution is required to receive it: as long as the child has a Social Insurance Number, a Canadian resident has opened an RESP, and the family is a BC resident, ESDC deposits the $1,200 directly.
