RDSP Calculator – Help Guide

The Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) calculator helps Canadians with disabilities and their families plan long-term savings. The government provides matching grants (CDSG) up to $3,500/year and Canada Disability Savings Bonds (CDSB) up to $1,000/year based on income.

How to Use This Tool

    Enter the beneficiary's age

    RDSP contributions and grants are available until the beneficiary turns 59. The account must be converted to payments by age 60.

Helpful Tips

  • Contribute at least $1,500/year to receive the maximum CDSG of $3,500 if family income is under $106,717 (2025).
  • Unused CDSG and CDSB room can be carried back 10 years. Open the account early to maximize lifetime grants.
  • The lifetime RDSP contribution limit is $200,000. There is no annual limit on contributions.
  • Grants and bonds are subject to a 10-year holdback rule. Repayment is required if withdrawals are made within 10 years of the last grant/bond received.
